USC spine surgeons featured for focus on stem cells

Patrick C. Hsieh, MD, director of the minimally invasive spine program at the USC Spine Center, and Jeffrey C. Wang, MD, co-director of the USC Spine Center, were featured in Becker’s Spine Review for being “on the forefront of biologics and stem cells.” Hsieh and Wang were listed among 55 physicians in the nation participating in clinical trials or who have a research focus on biologics and/or stem cells for spine surgery.

Hsieh is a leader in the shift in technology for restorative care and using stem cells for spinal cord injury.

Wang recently presented at a recent North American Spine Society meeting on the eventual clinical use of stem cells in spine fusion surgery.
